Great employment opportunity

Delhi, Louisiana

Poverty Point Reservoir, a 2,700 acre man-made lake created in 2001, is located 3 miles north of the village of Delhi, Louisiana, just off I-20 between the larger cities of Monroe, Louisiana and Vicksburg, Mississippi.  It is accessible to all the conveniences of modern living, yet secluded from the stress of city life.

The lake is a Louisiana fisherman’s paradise, well stocked with catfish, large-mouth bass, crappie and bream, making boating and fishing a favorite pastime. The lake is enhanced by a state park. Just above the north shore, a beautiful 18-hole PGA golf course, Black Bear, is now open.

The state park, located off Hwy 17 just north of the town of Delhi, boasts many facilities:  marina with 48 covered boat slips, 2 boat launches with fish cleaning stations nearby, concessions and bait store, fishing pier, rental cabins, swimming beach, nature trails, 54 improved campsite with RV accommodations.

The name "Poverty Point" is derived from a nearby Native American site consisting of complex earthworks and artifacts.  Dubbed the Poverty Point culture, its people settled on the banks of Bayou Macon between 1,400 and 700 B.C.  The Poverty Point State Historic Site is located just 20 minutes away from the reservoir, and has become the focal point for archaeological research.  Interpretive programs, a museum and guided tours are provided for visitor education.  This site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1962.  Located less than a hour drive from a national park, riverboat casino gaming, fine dining and antique shopping.
